CareOne LLC is a network of over 70 post-acute nursing and assisted living facilities primarily located in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Virginia. Daniel E. Straus is the founder, Chairman and CEO of the organization.

A former employee shares her experience on glassdoor.com, "I didn’t realize how bad the management was until I worked at other places. CareOne has the worst management I’ve ever been a part of. No one is approachable and teamwork is terrible. The CNAs are bullies. I got paid probably below minimum wage for the hardest work I’ve ever done."

"No appreciation, level of care is high and over worked staffs"

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Low morale, staff really works hard and tries their best under serious limitations. They are poorly treated, undervalued, pushed beyond their limits, etc. Management is solely committed to profit. Very difficult for staff to meet the needs of the patients because they are stretched thin. Very difficult for staff to help each other since they can barely keep yourself afloat. Each person for him/herself is the reality."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Toxic environment people in positions that are not qualified for their positions"

CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Former Employee) says

"They are extremely unstaffed very often. The scheduler has a very bad attitude. The supervisors are young and care more about there phones then the patients in which they take care."

Accounts Receivable Specialist (Former Employee) says

"Constant gossiping, whispering and favoritism will be the biggest distraction throughout your work day. Supervisor makes it known who her best friend is by spending hours in the office with her or at each other’s desks. It feels like high school all over again. It doesn’t surprise me that everyone leaves after a few months"

RN Supervisor (Former Employee) says

"Typical shift is spent rounding on patients hourly (because corp will override DON and admit patients whom the facility is not equipped), completing tasks which you’re responsible to complete during your 8 hr shift, AND the tasks which were ignored on the previous shifts. You’ll NEVER leave on time unless you’re not doing your job. You’ll still live paycheck-to-paycheck. You’ll be publicly insulted & cursed out by the unit Mgr for staying within your scope of practiceYou’ll hone your clinical & time mgmt skillsVERY hostile work environment. Favoritism & Unfair pay"

Dietary Aide (Former Employee) says

"They pay does not equal, the amount of work that you are assigned too! Only positive part of the job is working with the residents. The managers will tell you everything you want to hear, just so you can do the extra work, but they don’t care about your input. Just shut up and work!! Kitchen supervisor will lie to you about promoting you to different positions, with more pay... Very unorganized! To much drama!!! STAY AWAY!ResidentsPay, management!!"

PTA (Former Employee) says

"Would send rehab staff home and have them use PTO. Productivity over patient care. Manager untrue and sneaky. Hourly pay was comparable. Hired outside company for 40 hour positions when sending current full time staff home early."

LPN (Former Employee) says

"Your License will be in Jeopardy. So take my advice and RUN. They do not care about the patients at all. Only money!!! This is not a good working environment."

LPN (Current Employee) says

"Management will throw you under the bus, poor pay, people sleeping in day rooms, maintenance requests go ignored, meetings with no agenda. Catty employees, awful food etc. please stay far away."

Housekeeper (Former Employee) says

"They want you to work hard for minimum wage and don't want the workers to have 1199 SEIU Union and if you talk about the union they will fire you on the spot. And they give you raises and then they take the raises back and then they use minimum wage law as an excuse to reduce your pay rate back to minimum wage and then they say well that's all you suppose to make."

Manager (Former Employee) says

"I worked at CareNone for a short time. It truly was the worse placed that I ever worked. I never felt so used and under appreciated in my life. I was a manager and made the mistake of reporting how unfair and abusive my boss was to the employees. There was nothing confidential or fair in the way that it was handled, especially for me. I was fired a short time after for a falsified reason. Do not trust snyone, especially HR backed by HR"

COTA (Former Employee) says

"Many therapists are not ethical. Management is corrupt It doesn’t matter if your a good therapist. Your judged on your personality Patients and family members can give you rave reviews. However, management makes poor decisionsThank you for your feedback. We take pride in having many avenues for employees to come to us with concerns. These include; a toll free 24/7 employee hotline, confidential employee surveys, monthly employee feedback sessions with corporate Human Resources, etc. While we are disappointed you chose a public forum to vent your grievances, we invite you to speak with us directly to hear your concerns"

Dietary Aide (Former Employee) says

"I had 3 “managers” in 7 months of working there. One more unprepared than the last. The schedule is also a joke. With people frequently calling out or no shows, I didn’t get reasonable notice to rearrange my schedule and not rush to work risking an accident. No overtime pay either for my slavery. Unlike any other reputable company, no-shows are never fired/disciplined. Don’t work here if you have any dignity!Thank you for your feedback. From the moment you begin working for us, it is our responsibility to create the best work environment for our team members. We are sorry to hear this is not what you experienced however we are always refining the way in which we retain talent. Should you wish to discuss further, please contact our VP of Human Resource Operations, Sharon Zeigler via email Szeigler@care-one.com"

Dietary (Current Employee) says

"I work in the kitchen. You run non-stop from the time you get there until your shift is over. There's no team work in that department. Unless your the kitchen director's pet. The kitchen director has been there less than a year and has over the past couple months brought in her former co-workers from her last place where she worked. She's down your back for everything. The full-time day cook we had quit because she couldn't take the way she was treated. Another diet aide that worked days full-time also quit recently. Never have I seen it so bad! Weekends you work short all the time because of call outs or they show up late to work. The kitchen director doesn't want to be bothered on weekends if we're short. Tells us to deal with it!! On my way out too!no breaks, overworkedThank you for your feedback.

"Huge turnover Management that doesn't care or listen HR is a night mare No one is happy there Never got a raise Never get a break Staffing is horrendous"

Cook (Former Employee) says

"Worked with a lot of fine people at my facility, but the company itself is terrible to work for. They promise people promotions then hire outside the company. They dont reward loyalty or hard work. Every good manager leaves because the company is more concerned about penny pinching than actually providing quality services. Again, worked with some great people directly but the company is not a good one to work for."

Food Service Director (Former Employee) says

"It's care less and no team work.only liars and promises. Their want you management.their way no budget.no concistency on menus.no food quality.no skills cook's.Thank you for your feedback. We take pride in having many avenues for employees to come to us with concerns. Melinda Marecheau Carrera says

"I would give this company a ZERO! I am looking into suing this company! DO NOT GO WITH THEM!!!!! They told me to stop paying on a card which at the time was the only GOOD thing on my credit. I kept telling them that I did not want to but the lady said i need to STOP PAYING it so it could go in their program. She then told me to block them if they call. I listened to them and they have DESTROYED my credit beyond measures. save yourself the time and do not go with them!!!"

Yolanda Sawyer says

"This company is only self serving, they provided only there only GREED, did not fulfill there promises to provide what they said they would do. Worst company I have been involved with in my 79yrs. Finally cancelled after 10 months of paying for nothing. $ 497.00 per month plus $ 25.00 per month service fee for holding my money. They did NOTHING but collect my money, and destroy my credit, BEWARE of this company!"

customer says

"Current offer was not accepted and since there has been no communication concerning followup by negotiator or process options. I am getting repeat emails from Beyond and the bank concerning this offer. (Merrick Bank) I have called Beyond twice concerning this.."

William Kilgore says

"Unbelievable how this company screwed me over. Been trying to get settlements fixed since October 2019. They have only settled one in that amount of time. I deposited $3500 to them and they took out $1500 for their "fee". Absolute waste of a year and wish I never went with this company. Feel used. To top it off, I am currently being sued by one of the creditors that you guys said you would take care of. You told me to make no payments to them and that you would take care of it. That was since October 2019. What have you guys been doing?! This is ruining my credit and future."
